Brand Work: Turning Negative Perceptions, Positive

Prior to its transition to Mercy South, Cohesion was the brand agency for St. Anthony’s, a community health system brand in south St. Louis County. During a two-year period, Cohesion was instrumental in helping drive revenue and reputation for a redesigned Emergency Department (12% volume increase) and successfully launching a new Heart & Vascular Institute and revitalizing SAPO, the center’s physician organization.


Perhaps more important, we developed a new positioning, messaging and visual approach for the overall St. Anthony’s brand, including naming and nomenclature for all facility entities and practices, and have helped positively transform the way that patients and community viewed St. Anthony’s — as a brand, as a facility and as a employer.


And, extended our work into building a shared sense of community improvement for every move the hospital made.
