One of the world’s leading life science companies, Millipore (now EMD Millipore and part of Merck KGaA) grew rapidly through multiple acquisitions and internal development alike. While the organization has a strong corporate brand strategy in place, the challenge was to ensure that these guidelines filter down into every subsidiary activity across North America and around the world. Cohesion was first called upon to build a positioning and messaging platform for Millipore’s then new drug discovery business unit—one that would not only frame the new acquisition in the context of the corporate brand, but also allow for deep customization of sales messaging. Cohesion then extended the platform approach into many other life science areas of Millipore.
