In 2016, Cohesion was engaged to redevelop a positioning strategy and positioning line for Crushed Red, a unique, fast-casual restaurant concept with locations in five states. Serving ‘artisan’ salads and flatbreads, management wanted to now focus attention more on salads than it originally had. Through insights gained via discovery, focus interviews, competitive and industry analysis, Cohesion developed the positioning line, “Artfully Chopped Craft Salads.”

Working with the design experts at Design Invasion, Cohesion created this positioning to introduce the idea of ‘craft’ as a nod to the artisan trend taking place in other food and beverage categories. This positioning also highlights the in-restaurant salad making experience — where craftspeople audibly ‘chop’ salads in front of customers.

The new positioning is being utilized as the company expands to new stores.
